An experiment in colors - Help me, f-list?
So..... I have a Secret Project online. Only problem is, my red background looks like brown to some people and orange to others, depending on their monitors. So, I would much appreciate it if you would go to http://www.alouwebdesign.ca/colourchart.htm and tell me which of these do not look like brown or orange to you, choosing as many as apply:

#800000

#B22222

#8B0000

#800000: I would call it "wine", a dark purplish-red edging toward brown.

#B22222: a true brick color, balanced between red and brown

#8B0000: reddish brown, but more toward the brown side.

On my monitor, none of them look brown or orange.

Ditto here. Though #800000 and #B22222 look least like brown, if that helps.

They're all red--with a lot of brown undertones--to me. The least brown one is B22222 (fire brick).

I'm using a fairly new LCD monitor, though-- CRT monitors tend to be a lot darker, in my experience.

The problem with that chart is that neighbouring colours affect how I see it. Full-screen, they all look brighter. I'd say #B22222 is pushing orange; the others red.
